Tree number 7 approximately 1.5m3 of solid wood is available for purchase for firewood. From our shelterbelt at Loburn, Rangiora, the tree has been down since the end of March. If it is split soon and left in the weather to season, it will be OK for spring fires this year and perfect for next year.

So that’s 1.5m3 of estimated solid log volume (44cm base diameter and 21m long) plus branches, and pinecones are a bonus. A typical merchants cubic metre is not stacked so can have up to around 40% air, even a cord (3.6m3 stacked) has a lot of air, this is 1.5m3 of solid wood plus branches and pinecones.
$50 for as much of the tree as you want but it’s up to you to cut it up, remove it and make a heap of the light branch material that you don’t want. For an additional fee, I can help with the chainsaw work.
